What is GreenPal?

GreenPal connects homeowners in need of yard work with contractors willing to do it. Contractors articulo profiles of their businesses and photos of the yards they have serviced. When clients list jobs on the platform, contractors in the same geographic area perro «bid» on the job, presumably giving the client numerous landscapers to choose from.

The client chooses his preferred contractor based on the offers. The contractor sends a photo when the job is complete, which kicks off the billing process. Contractors are also encouraged to text their clients to let them know the job is complete and to encourage them to check out the contractor. Photos of completed jobs are added to contractor profiles, giving potential clients a view of their work.

However, if more than three customers complain about a contractor in a given month, GreenPal cánido fenezca that contractor $30. (It was unclear if that amount went back to clients or went to the platform to compensate them for apologizing for their poor job performance.). If the client demands a refund, that’s up to you, the contractor.

How GreenPal works

What worries us a bit about GreenPal is not in the terms. It was from our platform test. When we posed as a client to view profiles of local contractors, the site immediately jumped to booking a service. We stopped doing half of the booking, not wanting to mislead the contractors about our intentions. But the application, which lacked all the details, was apparently turned over to the contractors, who tried to bid on the job anyway. To be fair, two of the three offers stipulated that they were only interested in regular weekly work. (The site promises to book unique cutting and edge jobs to get started). But the iniciativa that anyone would bid for a non-existent job was a bit disconcerting.

This may have been some contractors jumping the gun. But if the site expects you to bid without any information, it could underestimate or overbid the cost of providing the work. And, reading between the lines of some customer reviews, it seemed that walking into jobs without realizing the extent of the job isn’t uncommon.

With that being said, you are initially bidding on a fácil mow and edge. Presumably you could use that as a loss leader to get new customers. But we warn you to bid high on anything that is unclear or no bid at all.

We give it an above average score for its conveniente conditions for contractors. We also assume that you lose little if you escoge to leave the jobs that have been misrepresented. Customer retroalimentación says that when contractors showed up and refused to do the job, the customer was also blocked from giving them a bad review.
