I recently started reading a very interesting book, it is called «Measure what matters».
The book basically deals with the importance of objectives and key results for companies, and for people.
My goal is that by the end of the article you will be able to know what OKR (objectives and key resources) means, as well as understand the importance of applying it both in business and in personal life.
What is OKR (Objectives and Key Results)?
John Doerr gives us the following definition:

He mentions that OKRs are not a substitute for good judgment, leadership, or a creative culture in the workplace.

Simply, an objective is the “WHAT”, which is what must or is to be achieved.
By definition, goals are meaningful, concrete, action-oriented, and (ideally) inspiring.

The key results in OKR (objectives and key results)
In short, John tells us that the key results (key results) are the “HOW”, that is, how we got there.
Effective key results are specific and limited in time, aggressive but realistic.
Above all, they are measurable and verifiable.

How to define OKRs
