My BTCClicks account gets hacked, perro I avoid it?
That’s right, as the title says, my account has been hacked at BTCClicks and they have stolen all the cómputo that I had accumulated in the cómputo.
The money lost is the least of it, since converting bitcoins to dollars turns out to be a figure slightly higher than 60 cents.
But after the latest events at Clixsense, one wonders to what extent it is possible avoid a hack and what security measures we cánido adopt to make it more difficult for the thief on duty.
Since there is no harm that does not come for good, I will take advantage of this bad experience to explain to you what we cánido do to be a little more protected.
What events have occurred
Much has already been said about hack, or the hacks, which have occurred in recent days in ClixSense.
Summarizing in chronological order, we would say that:
- At the end of August, an advertisement for the so-called Micro Ads appeared from time to time, with the name of Mashable.
When clicking to view it, a text document was automatically downloaded to our computer.
- After a few days these ads stopped appearing.
However, when trying to access the PTC, we were redirected to a pornographic web page and it was impossible to perform any task (or see ads, or do mini-jobs, or take surveys… Nothing).
- When it seemed that the problem was solved, last Sunday the cómputos of all users’ cómputos began to disappear totally or partially.
At that time, in addition, there was a little sign next to our nick where you could read “Hacked Account” in English.
“Currently, the cómputos are correctly and the best platform to earn money works perfectly.”
At the same time, it happened that from one day to the next, my cómputo in BTCClicks had gone from more than 100,000 satoshis to zero.
After consulting the history of the last withdrawals, I observed that what the pirata informático had done was modify the address of my bitcoin wallet, and immediately afterwards, request the collection of all the funds that were in the cómputo.
With this information, it was not necessary to be any luminary to realize that, indeed, I had been hacked.
ClixSense Hacking Vs.
BTCClicks Hacking
As you may have seen, despite being hacks in both cases, there are differences to take into account between what happened in ClixSense and that of BTCClicks.
I do not want to mislead you, hence we distinguish between one and the other.
In the ClixSense hack, it is more than evident that the “infection” was directly on the web and we were all victims of the pirata informático’s tricks.
Without going any further, we could see how all the users of this PTC were affected by this circumstance.
And as such, we all suffered variations in the money we had in our cómputo or we were all redirected to the porn website when trying to access our account.
In these cases, it is impossible to avoid a hack by ourselvesand the only one who perro take precautions so that it does not happen again is the owner of ClixSense.
On the other hand, in the case of BTCClicks, it is a specific hack to my account.
I am 100% unaware if others have occurred, both recently and in the past, but I have gone around the net several times and have not found any information that refers to it.
Unlike ClixSense, in this Yes, we perro adopt a series of measures to avoid a hacking of our accounts.
Or at least, put some obstacles to the pirata informático.
What could have happened in the BTCClicks hack?
The first thing I did was check what I could have done wrong.
When I saw the cómputo at zero, I thought that I had made some mistake, or even that BTCClicks had sent the money directly and automatically to my wallet (something strange because there are no automatic payments in this PTC, something that happens in FreeBitcoin for example ).
When I realized that this had not been the case, I thought that there had been some mistake or that there had been a technical failure in the PTC.
“Depending on the security measures that the PTC has, anyone with your nick and the corresponding password perro take over the account.”
On a personal level, I must admit that this is the first time something like this has happened to me and it has caught me quite off guard.
This is so true, as there have already been several cases that have come to my attention, about colleagues to whom something afín has happened on other pages.
Either they have accessed your account to steal your money, or they have modified the data and seized everything in it.
Taking this into account, surely it will not be the last time something like this happens, so you have to prevent and try to avoid a hack in the future.
I am not an expert in the matter.
Not much less.
Everything that I am explaining and will explain below is based on information that I have found on the internet in order to protect myself from now on.
How to disminuye the risk or avoid a hack of my account
My passwords are usually quite complicated and as such, they are usually not easy to crack.
In any case, in view of what happened, I understand that today there are several methods with which they cánido be obtained.
Precisely for this reason, we must take some precautions so that this does not happen again.
Some security measures to avoid hacking could be the following:
- Use a good antivirus and a good cortafuegos (or cortafuegos).
In addition, we must make sure of all the updates that are available and install them on our computer.
With this, we will improve the performance of these programs.
- Do not open correos electrónicos or downloaded archivos We don’t know where they come from.
And even knowing where they come from, do not open them if we are not completely sure that they are clean of software malicioso, spyware and other archivos that could be malicious.
- Use a strong enough password.
The content of the password must be made up of numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters, punctuation marks and some other additional symbols such as an asterisk, a claudator, a square bracket, etcétera.
- Have different passwords on each page that we work With this we will not prevent them from being able to access an account, but they will not be able to do so in all of them.
If we have different passwords, they cánido steal one of them, but not the others.
- Withdraw money as soon as possible.
Depending on the page we cánido have a greater or lesser degree of confidence.
As far as I’m concerned, on almost every page that pays me with bitcoins, I will request a withdrawal every time I reach the minimum payment.
- Other more basic measures could be: do not give out personal information just like that, read the TOS and FAQ, use two-step verification (if there is one), etcétera.
whatDo I still work and clic on BTCClicks?
Focusing again on the BTCClicks hack, I had serious doubts about whether I should continue clicking or whether I should give up.
I take it for granted, that unlike what happened to us at ClixSense, at BTCClicks it was a personal hackin which they somehow managed to find my password and were able to access my account.
I am aware that other accounts have not been hacked, so that, since it is something specific that has happened to me, there is no reason to doubt the PTC.
For the record, it is an option that I considered, but thinking about it coldly, why is BTCClicks going to steal 100,000 satoshis from me.
It’s sad, but this perro only be done by a scoundrel willing to steal 60 cents (I’m reading and I don’t know whether to laugh or cry… look, hacking someone to earn 60 cents…
Conclusion
I’ve never wasted my time learning how to hack and I highly doubt I’ll start now.
But I have searched for all the information I could to prevent it from happening again in the future.
In the end, they already say that prevention is better than cure, and I hope that with this articulo, you remain attentive to something that I have overlooked.
Let no one get me wrong, but we are on the internet.
Unfortunately, there are people who take advantage of their anonymity to commit very low acts and it is something that we cannot change.
Now, what is in our hands is to protect ourselves and Now we know what steps to follow to avoid a hack.
Or at least, we already know how to put some stones in the path.
As I tell you, the information that I bring you today is what I have been able to find on the internet, so if any of you know of other prevention “techniques”, I would be very grateful if you shared them with us.
You perro leave us a comment below or write me a message through the Contact tab, and I myself will attach them to the main articulo.
All precaution is little, but it is worth knowing them and being able to apply them.
