Is Black Out Bingo a legit way to earn free money or a game aplicación? We’ve tested the habitual mobile game to see if you cánido win money or other prizes without putting your own money on the line.

Blackout Bingo is a competitive bingo game where jugadores compete against each other to win cash or prizes.

The answer is “yes”, in the strictest sense: I was able to download Blackout Bingo and play free games that offered the oportunidad to win in-game currency that could be redeemed for various prizes.
However, as I will highlight throughout this review, there is no way to win cash without paying to play.
There are a few different types of currency that you will find within the game:
- Money: US currency is required as an entry fee for some games and is offered as a prize to the winners of those games.
- z’s: The official digital currency of Skillz.
It cánido be used for entrance fees, but cannot be exchanged for anything with cash value.
You earn Zs by winning games and tournaments, achieving “trophies” or as a daily offer.
- ticketz: A type of virtual currency offered as a prize for some games that cánido be redeemed for gift cards or merchandise.
For every bingo game I played, I traded Zs for the oportunidad to play.
If I won the game (meaning I scored more points than my opponent), I would earn plus Zs and a Ticketz.
If he lost, he won nothing.

The Blackout Bingo FAQ states that all of the games available require skill to play.

What skills help someone increase their chances of winning at bingo?

Whether you plan to play on an iPhone or Android device, there are some universal truths to know before you get started.

You cannot win cash without paying to play.
There are several game options (brackets, heads-up, and practice) available, along with various risk/reward scenarios for each.
Brackets and head-to-head games offer numerous options in which jugadores have the oportunidad to win cash.
However, there is a corresponding cash entry fee for these games.

You cánido earn free gift cards and merchandise without paying to play, but building up enough credit for these rewards will take a long time.
There is a support option that requires just Zs to entrar (instead of a cash entry fee).

For context, it takes thousands of Ticketz to earn a cash reward.

There is a fee for inactivity.
According to the Blackout Bingo FAQ, once a usuario is inactive on the platform for six months, a $2 monthly maintenance fee is applied to their account.
Note that the fee is deducted from the usuario’s in-aplicación cómputo.
Blackout Bingo says that your payment method will never be charged without your consent.
However, it is important to note that if you stop playing, the funds you have added to your cómputo will slowly be depleted.

I guess the term “same circumstances” means the same bingo balls, in the same place; however, the Skillz Terms and Conditions are not as specific.
Here are some of the key features of the game that you should be aware of in order to maximize your chances of winning.
Boosts
During each game of bingo, you have the ability to earn “boosts,” which effectively give you more points or time (and increase your chances of beating your opponent).

Leagues
Leagues reward you for playing consistently.
“Pro” leagues allow you to compete against your fellow Blackout Bingo jugadores for cash prizes.
The current league is offering $500,000 in cash and 58.1 million Ticketz.
The “Practice” league offers Zs, currently 150,000 Zs divided among the top finishers.
Leagues run over a equipo period of days and offer payouts to the top finishers at the end of the period.

loyalty levels
Jugadores rank up through six levels as they earn Ticketz.
With each move up the rank, they earn a Ticketz multiplier.
For example, lowly bronze jugadores (like me) earn only 1 times the number of Ticketz for each bingo game they win.
But once you’ve played enough games to earn 250 Ticketz, about three years at the rate I played during my test for this review, I’d get silver status and a 2x multiplier, so every game I earn a Ticketz pays me.

There are several game options available in Blackout Bingo, along with several levels in each, but they really boil down to free games and cash games.

Our Blackout Bingo winnings
Our goal for this Blackout Bingo review was to establish whether it cánido really be called a money making aplicación.
As such, I went into my trial period with the rule that I would only play free games and tried to earn as many Ticketz as I could by using Zs for entry fees.
In 20 minutes of play I won 57 Ticketz.

Maximum Earning Potential
So what was I able to redeem my 57 Ticketz for?
Drum roll please…
Nothing.
The easiest reward to earn on the platform is a sticker that costs 1,000 Ticketz.
Let’s do some math to see how long you would need to play Blackout Bingo to win 1,000 Ticketz.
During this trial period, I earned Ticketz at the rate of 57 every 19 minutes and 30 seconds (which equals one every 1170 seconds).
Note that the vast majority of my Ticketz, 50 out of 57, came from a trophy reward.
I’ll include my trophy earnings in the math below, but wanted to point out that it’s unlikely that I’ll earn at exactly the same rate over time.
- 1,170 seconds (played)/57 Ticketz = 20.53 seconds/Ticketz.
- 250 Ticketz (to move to the next winning level) * 20.53 seconds = 5133 seconds (1 hour and 25 minutes of consecutive play to move to silver level).
The next 750 Ticketz would be earned at a multiple of two for each win (at silver level), so my win rate would improve slightly to 1170/64 = 18.28 seconds per Ticketz.
- 750 Ticketz * 18.28 seconds = 13,710 seconds (3 hours 48 minutes).
- 1 hour and 25 minutes + 3 hours and 48 minutes = 5 hours and 13 minutes.
If that math is hard to follow, consider yourself lucky you don’t have to calculate it!
But here’s the big takeaway: It would take me 5 hours and 13 minutes of consecutive play to earn enough Ticketz to redeem for a sticker.

Frequently Asked Questions about Blackout Bingo
Is Blackout Bingo a gambling aplicación?

If you’re obsessed with bingo and looking for a glitch-free gaming experience to relax in your free time, Blackout Bingo is a great choice.
